Cops pay 3 a.m. visit to tell man his door is unlocked
Unfortunately, somebody will spin this to indicate the police are out of control and violated this man’s right to be secure in his house. What they will forget to mention is this:
“The officers told Molde his garage door was open, the TV was on, the keys to his truck were left in the ignition and the door to his house was ajar.”
I certainly would want the police to check up on me if these conditions existed. I also would find it reasonable to enter if their initial knocks failed to receive any response.
